My Sister

On the sixth of December 2016 Belinda went on a trip to Fiji for a netball tournament to verse different teams from different parts of the world like Australia.

She got to go on the tournament because she was training with Motivations New Zealand. The team selectors liked how she played and trained, so they asked her if she wanted to be apart of the Fiji tournament team, she agreed to be a part of the team.

To go on the tournament she had to fundraise money so she could play netball for Motivations New Zealand. She managed to raise one-thousand five hundred dollars buy selling raffle tickets at her parents work and to family and friends. Some of her family members contributed huge amounts of money so she could go on the tournament. For example her grandfather gave her two-hundred dollars for her to go to Fiji to play netball.

She played people from around Fiji and also versed people from Motivation Australia. Her team won two games and lost the rest but the Motivations New Zealand squad overall placed third out of 10 teams.
She had some problems along the way. Like when her and her team where heading to their second accommodation. They had to organise another bus because the bus they booked was not suitable for long travel. Also when they were at the second accommodation they had no buses, so they had to use other people’s buses.

She liked some of the Fijian food, but some of the food she did not like. She got to experience the Fijian cultures food. She also got experience their street food.

‘It was long but exciting’.The flight was four hours long. They served her food during the flight home. She played games with her friend on the way home to New Zealand

‘It was hard at times but it was nice to have to do things on my own and to have more responsibility for myself and my stuff’ said Belinda.
